Comfort or Character

Have you ever worked to serve others only to get critism and no expression of thanks? Have you ever experienced pain when you serve people and they can not see your sacrifice and good intensions but they are even tempted to suspect your motives?

You are not alone. In 2 Corinthians 14:19-28 Paul goes through a list of hardships that few men, perhaps none, have equaled yet pressed on in his care for the church. Likewise the call of Romans 12 is to press on, not decrease in zeal for the advance of the kingdom. And we expect praise and affirmation on earth? If so, it may be that we have our reward. Rather we endure hardship and even critism, to hear the words of the master: Well done, good and faithful servant.

Key Passage:
[Be] ... not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer ... Rom 12:11-12

What Happened to People Group Theory?

A strange thing happened on the way to bringing the Gospel to every 'people group.' A growing number of Christian voices around the world begin to suggest that the focus on people groups was overemphasized. [More >>]
